I would say that if you have no idea what you want to write about, but you do want to write then we've got something, all right? A couple of ways we can approach this. One is, usually when people want to write they have something they want to write about. So I would ask the person, "Do you keep a journal? And if you keep a journal, what do you write about mostly?"
Are you writing down what you eat? Are your girlfriends making you miserable? Are you complaining about your parents? Ironically, whatever's bothering us in life makes great dramatic material.

This is sooo true for writers. Keeping a journal is extremely helpful for authors, and is needed to observe life.
