  • Hey maybe we can hook up Wolfy with Jenny Craig so he can loose a few pounds. And by then maybe he will develope some decent chops so they don't have to sample his way through a show. Without his Fathers support he can't do shit from what I can see. Mike Anthony also played a major roll in their Vocals. In fact,he was one of their main volcalists until Dave came along. If this makes me a fucking Looser then Fucking Looser it is mate. With a name 5150 I can tell you haven't seen real Halen!

  • The truth hurts. I have seem em 5 times with Roth and when they opened up for Black Sabbath in 78. Without Mike Anthony I expected more than what Im seeing.

  • When they were in Fresno I was able to get a close look at their set up. I was sort of shocked to see that they had equipment under the stage because they were running samples for Wolfy because he really can't play!! Makes me glad I didn't pay to get in! Without Mike Anthony it's relly not Original Van Halen in my book anyway,But once I learned that the kid wasn't even hardly playing,...Bummer. Look at him closely, He is not there! That bites!

  • great song.

  • agreed, DLR is a pretty poor vocalist....go look at 2007 eruption in seattle, after Ed plays eruption he starts on "aint talking bout love" and DLR comes in and totally fags it up with his out of time singing and an outfit that makes him look like a reject from the village people.

  • Their sound is sloppy, thats part of their deal. It wouldnt be VH if it were polished.

  • I meant Van Halen as a band were becoming sloppy after 1981. Prior to that they were the kings and Dave isn't given his due. His voice was the greatest for Ed's sound, especially around 1979..he was such a great singer. Sammy never really fit in vh. Dave's charisma was incredible. Hagar lacked confidence but he did have range, however David's personality came through vocally and forgetting the lyrics was more of a gimmick..so rock n roll. vh became sloppy when they weren't getting along anymore.

  • You said it. Dave has really always been sloppy. Forgetting the lyrics, messing up the tempo. That's why he's good in the recording studio, but Sammy Hagar was the absoloute opposite. On the album, he didn't sound live enough, and on stage he sounded great (for some of the rock songs like One Way to Rock).

  • I have seen Van Halen since the first tour with Black Sabbath in 78" and THAT sound up until the end of the Fair Warning tour was their absolute best. Some of the Diver Down shows i went too were great too. I agree that Van Halen never sounded as good after that. They were becoming sloppy. Also Ed's original amp went through a lot on the road over the years. They do sound decent enough now but we can't bring back their youthful energy.

  • dude i saw vh many times at the old forum in montreal back when, n they never sounded good, always too loud, n fucked round alot on stage... that said, they were the best parties i ever went too, no doubt! so let the decibels ring out, n may your ears not ring too long after the show! peace
