The attraction's name came from the famed Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, California, named after the famed engineer William Mulholland. This car themed mouse-style coaster was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, and was built by Mack GmbH. The ride vehicles were themed to the many cars one can find on the Southern California freeway systems, (such as Highway Patrol cars or Classic Surfer "Woodies"). The track included several sharp turns and sudden drops. At the end of the ride, a sign on the wall above read "Rental Car Return".
This attraction had both Fastpass and single rider lines.
As part of the park's major refurbishment, Mulholland Madness closed on October 12, 2010 and will be refurbished and re-themed. An employee publication has listed the date of reopening as April 20, 2011. When it reopens, it will be renamed Goofy's Sky School as part of the park's attempt to introduce classic Disney characters into Paradise Pier, the land in which the attraction resides.

... What? Disney rigged the coaster to be constantly moving? That's AMAZING. @_@ I swear, they really know how to "break the rules" when it comes to roller coasters. NO OTHER ROLLER COASTER AT NO OTHER THEME PARK that I know of can do this. Wow.

The ride loooks like a mini Mack Wild Mouse standard design. The second drop was originally two mini drops which delivered a CRAPLOAD of airtime...
