Street level view of the crowds reaction to the Canadian Men's Gold Medal win for Hockey at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. It seems hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the street to celebrate the gold medal win of the Canadian Mens Hockey Team over the Americans.
It is a jubilant crowd, everyone in a great mood with Oh' Canada breaking out everywhere. The police seem to have little more to do that pose for photos with people.
This really was the perfect end to a great 2010 Winter Olympics. Vancouver and the world had an amazing time with great weather (for the most part). This Olympics had several historical moments and this gathering crowd will be one of those for Vancouver. Never before have so many people flooded the streets of Granville and Robson, and everywhere else downtown. The only thing more amazing that the size of the crowd was the overwhelmingly happy mood and Canadian patriotism. Police seemed to have nothing more to do but pose for pictures with people and play street hockey, no one was causing trouble everyone was jubilant. It was an amazing moment for the history books of Canada and Vancouver.
Awesome moment. Once in a lifetime.
