Northern California fishing guide Rus Snyders catches a nice largemouth bass on a basstrix swimbait. It's early spring and the fish are staging on the outside of the deep tules, getting ready to spawn. Feel free to ask any questions on the different ways to rig a Basstrix swimbait. I am happy to share any of my knowledge. Please visit my website at www.russnyders.com
Hey I live in sacramento I bought enough swimbaits to bankrupt me and want to hit up some stripers any suggestions?

@Krisp456 - I hear there are quite a few stripers up the rivers right now. The water temp is still pretty cold, so bait fishing is probably going to produce the best results. Once it gets a little warmer out, the swimbait bite should really start turning on. The beginning of March is usually a good time to target the stripers out on the California Delta.

@colbybassmaster Most of the bass should be spawning at Clear Lake by the end of April. It's been a cold spring and the water temp is just now reaching the low 60's. We have had quite a bit of rain this winter, so Clear Lake is almost full, and the water is quite clear. Sight fishing the backwater sloughs around Lakeport should be productive. Good Luck!

Nice bass. Were you fishing a tourny? Little big to fillet.

No, I just keep them in my live well for a while so I can get some pictures later. I always release any bass I catch before the end of the day.
