i hate dells, and my hatred is growing stronger, soon enough i shall have enough anger to fully complete my transfer to the dark side.

Be really careful buying Dell, they put drives in that dont work. I paid extra to have their DvD writer ts-h553a. and the DVD writer has never worked since day 1. Technical support says it is faulty eyes. They ship brand new computers with parts they know don't work. Scumbags. dont believe me googles that model number, there is hundeds if not thousands of they faulty drives in Dell computers

Acer Gateway and emachines suck

I have had 2 gateway computers and 1 e-machine and I will never buy them again the first one was in the shop 5 times in one year.

I would recommend Asus,HP,Apple, Sony,Samsung,Toshiba and Alienware in no order but Apple and Alienware are my favorites.

@wretchedstare I've had alot of luck with acers actualy, picked one up from newegg for my sister for college a year and a half ago.

she's had friends in college up there have to replace 2 macbooks, i think 1 dell and 2 hp's... i only took particular note of the macs being replaced, only because mac fanboys will tell you they never break and i thought it was funny her $600 acer has outlived 2 of them and is still in good health.

I beg to differ!! I too fix, and build computers for people, and have owned 6 dells in the past 5 years, and have never had a problem! Ever!! I currently use a dell as a matter of fact.

i've had an emachines computer since i was 12! im 17 now, thats 5 years, it's still fast and i have windows vista installed. but i agree i probably got lucky.
