We take our two Italian Greyhounds to the local dog park often. They are always the fastest dogs at the park. None of the other dogs, reguardless of size, can keep up. The only exception is if there are other Italian Greyhounds. Even then, Amelie is still among the fastest.

Vegas is a warm place, but our winters can get a little cold, especially for the thin-coated Italian Greyhound. So, we bought them fleece bodysuits from Hounds in the Hood.

The Italian Greyhounds in this video were adopted. We did not buy then from a pet store or a breeder. There is no reason to buy from a breeder or a petstore. We have three pure bred Italian Greyhounds all under the age of one. All were by adoption or from IG rescue.

  • nice!!! i'm from vegas too, that's the horseman park right??

  • @fhhs05 Yes. Unfortunately we now live too far from that park. I think it's the best dog park in town.

  • I have a retired/rescued greyhound racer myself, and he doesn't do much... until he's at the dog park. I took him to the dog park once when there were a lot of other dogs there. A guy was throwing a tennis ball, and all of the other dogs went after it, but him. We thought the other owners would think our dog was lame, so we took him to the group of dogs, hoping he'd fetch. But when the guy threw the ball, he ZOOMED past all the other dogs in one second, but he didn't even pick up the ball. x)

  • @LucarioLoverGirl My female, Amelie, is the fastest of my three. She will frequently get in the face of a German Shepherd or other large dog and then take off just to punk them. No dogs ever catch her until she did it one day to a retired racer named Max. Amelie was in a full sprint and looked over her shoulder to find Max on top of her, barely trying. She screamed and ran back to me. It was pretty funny.

  • how do you ever call them back to you??

  • They are pretty well trained. But we only let them run around like that at an inclosed dog park. I would need a motorbike to catch them otherwise.

  • ur grey hounds are fast and awesome!! :D

  • @crjoker Since when do dogs scream?

  • @crjoker i've been there once, it's huge, the down side is that they seperated into like 3 dog parks, and it's a bit too big, cuz my dog would run really far and i can't even keep an eye on him, my favorite by far is the dog park at sunset park, it's a decent size, really nice landscapes, won't hurt to check it out :D btw i llive in Southern Highlands, so every dog park in town is very far from my house :(

  • My head feels dizzy after watching them run... Whippets = 'fur-raris'!

  • thats really cool, id like to see it in person lol

  • Bet they are good and tired when you get home.
