Peter Smart's rubber powered Tupolev Bear meeting its demise at Old Warden, June 27th 2010. Video taken by Graham Potter and is posted with Peter's permission (actually with Peter's encouragement), but be warned it is not suitable for those of a nervous disposition.....

  • OK, I can't post a link, but do a search for Bear flight on my channel and you will find it. Pete has repaired the Bear now so all we need is some decent weather to try it again.

  • The model is actually rubber powered free-flight, so although quite large, not that heavy. The flight before had gone pretty well, but Pete took out some rudder to open out the circuit a bit. Trouble was he took took a bit too much and the model went too straight and stalled. There is a video of it flying properly I posted earlier 0 I'll see if I can post the linl

  • I'm pleased to say Pete has now repaired the model (it needed completely rebuilding in front of the wing) and it is now waiting for some decent weather to try it again.

  • Hahaha

  • The thumbnail preview fooled me into thinking it was the real thing crashing!

  • Too bad Andy.

  • LMAO! Ahh the RC hobby, the thrills of flight, the absolute pissed off emotions of a crash and saying F THIS HOBBY! and the eventual return to the work bench to re-design. At least were not out putting our lives in our own creations though ehh or a lot of us RC pilots might be splattered all over the canopy.

  • Made in china that is why!

  • who gave you permission to operate even RC version of this great plane :)

  • "Charlie bit meee!!"

  • very nice - I love the idea of such a big rubber powered plane.

    too bad it stalled.

  • Serves you right, idiot!
