Real world advice nicely presented especially for us beginners, no way can I justify an expensive guitar until I have learnt the basics. Keep it up appreciated.

Thanks for this! I'm looking at a $450 Fender Strat MIM from Craigslist and this will help me a LOT when I actually get to see it. It's not expensive to me, but it's not cheap either. I have an $80 Squier, so this is the next step up for me. Again, great, informative video!!

Ok, So im not sure if this is a problem or not, my guitar seems to work fine, And i just started out, i did what you said checked the frets and all thet, Its an epiphone les paul special and i got it for 80 bucks, wrks fine but i can look at the string and they have little bumps, like the frets are bending them.

@00TheRacecar Sounds like old strings, as they wear out where they make contact with the fret wire.

The best advice I've seen on the net great for us mortals with limited funds.

@Bazzvideo Glad you got something from it, I have played about 5 of these same cheap models that are sold down the street from my work that students bring in, usually problematic (the guitars that is, not the students:). The last one I saw was recent and actually played/sounded as good as what I have customized. I will throw up a link with a video soon of the stuff I recorded with this cheap guitar which I actually like a lot.

@LighterOfDewbies - I just threw it together for the video, but it's all pentatonic scale probably something like
