The human race becomes an advanced society living with all the latest technology, so advanced that they know how to build machines that travel faster than the speed of light, they need to get off earth and colonate space. They survive in space for billions of years then discover a planet exactly like earth with people on it, the people then look up and say "Holy shit it's a UFO!"

@paldesic2009 I agree, making nukes would be pointless if not a single one of us is daring enough to drop it and used as propaganda. Personally, I find that spending time, moneys and resources on building a learning machine or space colonizing spaceship or planet terraform spaceships would be so much better than spending building on destroying another country in this planet.

Discovery/Steve, you can't always be correct about everything. Man has almost certainly found by now and no doubt by a 100'000 years on, that nuclear destruction is not the right way. Besides, Japan's already fucked up enough!

We don't need nukes here, they'll just wipe us out. Carl Sagan even said that civilizations must become space-faring if they are to survive (I'm paraphrasing here)
