If I cut my hand into a cymbal or something while soloing or doing some fast breaks I don't find it as a bad technique. I feel like I'm alive, like I'm a part of the drum kit, I feel like confronting something. I'm not a masochist, but you know, it feels real and you shouldn't care about the pain when you put all of your heart into the playing. Well, I'm very young, so maybe it's because of it.. You get the point..

I CAN PLAY THE DRUMS ANY OLD WAY I WANT

I do not know guitarists who are concerned with that matters...but if you say so.
Look at Robert Fripp and his "Guitar Craft" lessons, he is pretty much concerned about teaching to hold the pick right..and that for hours...

This is good stuff, but most of it happens naturally over time by playing.

this is definitely the best technique. Its the natural flow of your body.
I would agree. Guitarist don't obsess over these things. They tend to concern themselves with real matters like, "What kind of hair spray should I use?" or " Are these pants tight enough? or " Can my girlfriend play the tamborine on this song?"

the only bad technique is if you hurt yourself when you play.. big words from the great Freddie Gruber.. now i understand why there is no correct or wrong, but only a reason to learn something the way that you are supposed to learn it.
