Shiny Skarmory with PokeRadar (Special Guile Edition)

Mission start.

I got to 37 on the first chain then a big fat Camerupt broke the chain.

2nd try, I went all the way to 40.

I apologize if you were expecting me to record the shiny grass; the way I record it is very tedious and takes some time, and time is not on my side right now. So you'll have to settle for my souped-up special edition, but there was a music gaffe. It started at the wrong point (I did not know this) but it's still passable. I think I did an excellent job editing the sound effects though.

I didn't exactly get what I wanted with the Pokemon or the video but they are both pretty decent.


Guile is from Street Fighter II onward. He's an Air Force Major in the US Military, always searching for his friend Charlie/Nash. It was he who taught Guile how to Sonic Boom.
Guile is usually played as a defensive character. He only has 2 Specials, Sonic Boom and Flash Kick. In SFIV, most people use him with a technique called "turtling" which is like being overly defensive.

Enough SF history.

I think we all know what I'm going to nickname my new shiny Skarmory. It's the perfect fit: Defensive Pokemon, green, Flying-type.....

It all falls together.



Now, the reason I show my TRAINER CARD at the end is to show you my Trainer Card Score. See, it's over 54,000.

Someone once told me that the Score affects chaining. The higher the score, the most likely your chain will continue.
I've only heard this ONCE from a single soul, but now I wonder if it holds some water.

Over on Platinum, I tried chaining Swablu, and I only had about 2,800 Score since it was a new game...

Well, needless to say that 30% encounter rate Swablu gave me one hell of a time. I had to rechain it like 12 times before I finally succeeded.

So on Diamond with me 54,000 Score, I almost ace Skarmory on the first try, which is a 5% encounter rate Pokemon (heaven forbid yes I was using Magnet Pull but that only increase that 5% by 50% so it's only about 7.5%, I dunno if the game round up or down, don't really care).
And then I do finish it off with aplomb on just the 2nd try.

So maybe something does have to do with the Trainer Card Score.

Only time will tell. Maybe I was just lucky. Once I wrap up Skarmory I'll go try another toughie.
