  • Is that some Gustav Holst "The Planets" I hear in there??

  • @Mannex17 Yes. In order: Mars, the Bringer of War; Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity; and lastly is Neptune, the Mystic. After that, it's a piece by the film's composer

  • The capsule traveled the same speed as the ISS does.

    Must be an amazing sight.

    Talk about jet lag tho.

  • Cmon... a scene like this?... 240p ?!?!?! WTF?

  • I remember that launch very well. Watched it on our tiny little black & white TV. I sat in my mother's lap and she smiled through tears of joy.

  • Epic!

  • @SFnerd109876 Actually the last piece is the theme from another movie called "The White Dawn"

  • @TBRANIAC Humanity's new goal is to utilize finanical trickery to subsidize giving free **** to everyone. Moments like this, where beauty and science interact so intimately, may be in the past.

  • @ExploreDestination LOL The "Clean" Marine.

  • I watch this and it makes me proud and sad at the same time. As I write this the last space shuttle mission has just lifted off. Where is the promise of manned space exploration that was literally launched in the early 1960's? Unmanned missions will continue... but there MUST be manned missions as well or else the promise of the past 50 years of human space exploration will remain unfulfilled.

  • I've always found the music that plays when Glenn flies into sunrise the most beautiful.

  • I really like the theme that plays after Glenn was given the go-ahead for seven orbits; to me, it kind of symbolizes all the things that's so darn great about flying... ^_^
