Christmas in San Francisco - Vic Damone

The greatest Christmas song.
I thank KOIT 96.5 for introducing me to this song about 3 years ago. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, KOIT plays nothing but X-mas tunes. It was on their station I discovered this wonderful song. Damone makes my playlist each year.

I don't know when exactly this song was recorded but I expect it happened in the 50's or early 60's. Given that I can understand why those lyrics were selected. We have come a long way from that kind of thinking. However you can tell why this evokes fond memories, " Chrismas in San Francisco is the closest thing to heaven. How I wish that you were here!' Thanks jonanjello for sharing this bit of nostalgia.

I live in Southern California now, so of course they don't play this down here. It's delightful to come here and see this posted. I love this song. It brings back memories of KOIT, and hearing it at Christmastime. Thank you so so much.

I just moved to San Francisco and while I love the city and secretly LOVE Christmas music (KOIT <3), I hate this song! The lyrics are so uninspired. It sounds like it was written by aliens just to mock us. I'm glad others here can relate.

im from san francisco, in the ARMY and currently deployed in afghanistan. im listening to KOIT live online right now and this song came on and made me really miss home and family. i love this song and KOIT and bein able to listen to KOIT makes it feel kinda like home over here. its just not christmas without KOIT!!!
