Any SoCal native will remember this classic ad from the late 70s-early 80s with the jingle: Who would have thought we could afford a piano of our own. This store was famous for selling Schafer and Sons pianos. Sadly, the Colton Piano store chains for Southern CA closed and are now in Northen CA. I went to a piano lesson at a Torrance store many years ago and this ad was on my mind.

Who would have thought a Schafer piano would bring us the joy and laughter we've known??

Whoa, I remember this from back in the late 70s. All over local tv here in LA.
BTW: Are they still in business??

Upon reflection, I would also like to note that this commercial also reflects the family values at the time too. That sharing time together as a family and doing something as simple as playing a piano is what family time is all about...and it was beautiful and not "corny" as it is by todays standards. And yes, all that in just a few seconds of a COMMERCIAL. Man I miss the 70's!

Wow, I completely forgot about this even though I watched it about a billion times as a kid. I even remember the older version where the singing goes all the way through where the announcer is talking on this later version. That just went deep into the memory banks. What a long strange trip it's been.
