"We're extremely pleased to have someone with a track record of such deep commitment to the environment, helping us to continue to be leaders in conserving the environment we rely on"
John Gay, Executive Chairman, Gunns Ltd
Statement upon appointment of Burke to work for Gunns directly, 9 October 2008

As far as I can tell Builda the basic thrust of your arguments thus far, in this forum and others, is this - anyone who is against the mill, for whatever reason, whatever their qualifications or arguments - be they the Australian Medical Association, an organisation of farmers, fishermen or businesspeople, even church ministers or simple minded treehuggers for that matter - is a whinging, dole bludging anti-everything drug-taking homosexual greenie.
You certainly make a strong case.

Lying, lowlife, scummy parasite.
Don gets a phone call one day.
"Hey Don, let's support the pulp mill".
"What's in in for me?"
"Money, Don."
"Aren't there a lot of people nearby who don't want a chemical plant in their neighbourhood?"
"Don, it's not near your place and you'll make a few thou, get on telly, and get to run your own front group."
"To be honest, I don't have any morals and these suckers that live on the Tamar can pay me more to be quiet or they can fuck off, I'm Don Burke."

Burke has always been a bit of a cock.

Really Bushvision, I have to take exception to yr slandering Tony Jones. He's a highly respected journo and you really do yourself a disservice with cheap shots like that. He works for a freakin public speaking company, they just rent him out. And in any case, anyone who would care to look at carbonexpodotcomdotau would see just how mainstream that conference was - big banks, big corporations. Hardly ConFest is it, mate? You slander TJ & don't back it up because there is nothing there, correct?
-
Just so I've got this straight - you're saying that Don Burke - who onced chaired yr Australian "Environment" Foundation, of which you are also a board member - goes to work for a corporation (Gunns) that indirectly funds the Australian Environment Foundation through the Institute of Public Affairs..... er.... and you don't know if he's getting any renumeration for his efforts to promote Gunns' $2 Billion dollar investment?
Ok.
-
hmmm.... I also read recently on an anonymous right-wing crackpot blog that Tony Jones makes pipe bombs for Earth Liberation Front in his spare time..... disgraceful! The ABC is a mouthpiece for the communist infiltrated green movement! Shut it down and let's have all our information from a reliable unbiased source such as News Ltd. Or a community television station backed by the Institute of Public Affairs!

What exactly are you saying Tony Jones is doing? Please try to be clearer, you're essentially slandering him without telling me what for!! lol
As far as Al Gore goes, I don't really take much interest in him. But any ex-member of any US administration excepting huge wads of ca$h from any individual or corporation who offers it - either before, during or after their period in office - well, frankly, I'm shocked! HORRIFED! TELL ME IT AINT SO!
So how much do you pay this Burke? Maybe we should hire him to do an anti mill vid sometime. Or then again maybe an animated dog turd would be more convincing for less cash? Far out this stuff is dynamite!!!

Don Burke comes at the huge price of zilch, nothing & Zero. He has always had a view that environmental decisions need to account for human values as well as ecological ones.
Any problems with people volunteering their time to promote something because they believe it`s true

Gday Bushvision, been a while! I understand Don Burke formalised his relationship with Gunns Ltd in October 2008, by going to work for them directly - is that correct? Any idea how much he is earning in his role as "environmental advisor" on the pulp mill?

Hi cheesy, I`m not sure if Don gets anything or if he does - how it compares with Tony Jones (ABC) $5000 for his enviro stints or Al Gore ($200,000 an appearance) but with your researching abilities you might know what it is. Time will tell us if Don`s role will be helpful, but at least he has a go at getting a win / win.

what is it you're saying multiple Walkley Award winning journo Tony Jones is doing, mate? Taking money for promoting environmental causes or something? If you've got something to say about him, why be so vague? What is this $5000 "enviro stint" you're talking about?

Try googling "on the money trail with Tony Jones" and an article comes up explaining how he does various appearances for $5,000 - $10,000 - one being the Carbon Expo
