We've just completed rebuilding a 1962 Chris-Craft 283 and Paragon hydraulic transmission for Bruce Dow's Glen-L Monaco. It's a vintage 1962 flywheel-forward, reverse rotation solid lifter Chevy 283. It's rated at 185 BHP at 4000 RPM, 261 ft. lbs. at 3000 RPM.

  • man that is a beautiful running beast you got there! I see you had the timing advanced when you started it, made for a quick start and nice flame out the exhaust!

Glad you enjoyed that ! When we first got the engine, the compression was in the 45 to 100 lb. range and it was on the wrong reverse-rotation firing order. It's still happily powering a Glen-L Monaco !
