Derek wanted a challenge. So using straps, chalk and a belt only he did 10 reps with 750lbs. No suit. August 13, 2009

  • Sorry but thats not 750 pounds. If you look at it each plate is 45 pounds there are 4 on each side if im not mistaken which is 45x8 = 360 and i guess + bar which is 44 pounds and i think that small black plate is 5 pounds so + 10 so its 414 pounds. If i counted wrong and it's 5 plates then that still makes it only 504 pounds

  • @Matchingshoes1 We use 100lb plates too.

  • Holy ass. This motherfucker rested 750 on his fucking knees...seriously?!? Guy is a monster

  • wait a min...if thts 750x10 could the destroy benny magnusons 1015 lbs easily..???

  • That was one of the most amazing feats of strength I have seen on you tube. Bravo!

  • not best

  • @Matchingshoes1 Kg stand for Kilograms not pounds. In fact that is over 750 pounds, more like 797

  • @Matchingshoes1 LoL, questioning the world's strongest man.

  • @Matchingshoes1 6X46.1kg(101.6lbs)= 609.6; 2x45lbs=90; 2x5lbs=10; 1 bar=45lbs. All added up is 754.60 lbs. Pause at 0:13 and you'll see how thin the outer 45 lb plate is compared to the others...

  • @Lorksening it's called hitching... and you're thinking that it's cheating because by powerlifting regulations those 2 reps don't count but in strongman those 2 reps and any other reps that look like that are just fine! It is dangerous to dumb kids who don't know how to do them so I can see why you'd say that but to those kids I say do them and never go back to the gym cause I don't want you curling in my squat rack anymore!

  • @Matchingshoes1 45.3 kilograms NOT POUNDS

  • I have nothing but respect for Poundstone, but that's not 10 reps, its 8 + 2 cheat reps. Nothing wrong with cheat reps if you really know what you're doing, and if you want to hit total exhaustion (and no, I'm definitley not saying I know better than him), but it's not good to teach people that you can do stuff like what he did at the end and call it reps, especially teaching people who are new to heavy lifting, could be dangerous for them to attempt stuff like that.
