This wrestler list was compiled from pay-per-views over the span of 1985-2001 - the years when WCW and WWF were in direct competition with each other in big events. In this time period, it could also be argued that these companies were equal in talent, even though WWF had much better production values and attendance up until 1995 or so.

The scoring for this list is based on event participation. WInning and losing as well as place on the card or title being the primary scoring criteria.

Only 4 PPVs are used for WWF, and 5 for WCW:
WCW: Starrcade, G. Am. Bash, Halloween Havoc, Bash at the Beach, and Superbrawl
WWF: Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble

However the event is scaled in points by how many that fed had that year. The raw points before scoring are given in the first part of the video. Basically a main event win scores 16, and the loss counts 14. The other scorings are steps of 2 downwards to lower card loss. Draws produce the median between the win amount and the loss amount. Special events like Royal Rumble and Survivor Series have their own scoring system, but they use a similar set of rules based on result and placement.

This is all result-based and no opinions or biases were used other than valuing match and title prestige, and selecting what the 4 or 5 "main" PPVs of each company were (I was heavily considering King of the Ring for WWF, but there weren't enough events over the span). I think the judgment calls used will balance out in their offsetting effects, and the score is a pretty good gauge of wrestler value during this time period.

Please comment and tell me what you think. This took months to put together and hours and hours of going through event results. This isn't just some list I threw together on the fly, but it was fun and educational in it's own way. I thought this was the best wrestling era, but I'm biased because I grew up then.
