My Mom has ALS, for about a year now. She's 71, and can still walk, clean the house, and still goes shopping with my Dad, but she has a hard time breathing at times, and her speech is poor. Sometimes I'm not sure how to deal with this.
It's so hard on my entire family, but she always say's "I'm strong and healthy. I say is that is what she believes,, then that may be the key on surviving this horrible disease for many more years!
I know many people in this interview. They are some of the BEST people you will ever meet. I lost my grandfather to Lou Gehrig's disease. It's difficult on both the patient and the family. I give all these people credit for sharing their story.
Robert:I think you live in the Bronx? Daily News made an interview with you a few years back.
I have Prog. Multiple Sclerosis and now the neurologist tells me that I also have MND but not ALS is the one that attacks the nerves' ends and produces pain.

Sean Bowler was my math teacher at that prep school. He was an awesome teacher and way too young to get that disease. R.I.P Mr. Bowler.

Powerful video. It's especially tragic when this disease strikes such young people. My sympathies go out to all these folks.
