  • Yeah it wasn't the best setup. Since this video was taken, I have moved into a new house and the stove is vented into a chimney! :)

  • Where did you get the fence that is around the stove?

  • @03700f7 I got it at my pellet stove dealer.

  • I wouldn't buy you house with the siding all market up like that

  • @Taxminia0311 That house was a rental with my mother in law as the landlord. I own my house now, and the stove is hooked up to a chimey that goes well above the roofline.

  • How hard is it to clean the vent, not the burn pot? I saw on another video that you are supposed to clean some vent behind or in the unit periodically

  • @trmulligan Although I scrape it out once every 3 days or so, I do shut the stove down once a month and really go through it. On my model, I remove the heat exchangers, take a toothbrush and vacuum and get all the ash off of the internal parts, fan blades, and clean what I can reach in the exhaust pipe. At the beginning of each year, I take apart the entire vent pipe system and clean / blow it out. Not sure how correct that all is, but it's been working fine for me for the last 4 years. :)

  • Thx for posting - as this video can help folks learn. The pellet vent location in this video is illegal and dangerous. The vent from a solid fuel appliance is not allowed to be within 48 inches of a window or door. Pellet stove owners should carefully consider the location they choose to vent. I also did a similar install (which I then redid) and I was left with soot all over my vinyl siding which was extrememely hard to remove even with cleaners and a pressure washer.

  • wow he needs to clean his stove in this video, flaming all around the burn shelf and door is nasty dirty. ours only smokes when first flares up and when see flames start smoke stops. got ours in Jan luv it.

  • Good video. I'm looking at the Harman p68 rated at 68,000 BTU's. I'm hoping to go through the roof, and thanks to your vid, I'm even more sure of going through the roof. Thanks again for posting.
