@Abzstar111 Silverstone went through changes in 1995 and again in 1997, and not forgetting this year as well (I realise your post is 2 years old now). A comparison between lap times set in Brazil's Interlagos circuit would be good, as that track hasn't changed at all

why are they working in the dark?? :p
-
@nitel10 no, if you search through formula1.com's archives, most of the fastest in-race laps were done in 2004, via either Michael Schumacher or Jaun Montonya.
-
94 cars were lower, had slicks, wider tyres, more horse power, used better fuel, more down force & active suspension. The rules were changed as it was thought that the cars were getting too fast for the circuits. So I would think that the 94 car would have been quicker. Not much point compairing lap times as the tracks are different.

@ssssroryssss2 they banned active before those deaths. fyi
-
@Abzstar111 even slower... Gp2 cars are just outside the 107 %... perhaps 8 secs at worst on tracks like monza?
-
the fastest were the v10's of 2005
in 1993 the fw15c driven by alain prost in qualifying for the german grand prix recorded a speed on the longest straight of 232mph so with the active suspension and aerodynamics,i would say this has to be the most complete formula one car ever.

the best way would be to compare the laptimes back in 1994 Great Britian GP and todays Great Britian GP since the track layout hasnt changed. This makes it far more accurate. They had more horsepower back then but not as aerodynamic as todays f1 so not much of a difference i guess.

Probably as fast as the GP2 cars in terms of lap times
