Michael Mauboussin, Class of 1982, delivered the final Dom Luke Childs lecture of the 2009-10 School year on April 23. Mr. Mauboussin is Chief Investment Strategist at Legg Mason Capital Management. He is also the author of three books, including More Than You Know: Finding Financial Wisdom in Unconventional Places, named in the 100 Best Business Books of All Time by 800-CEO-Read. He has been an adjunct professor of finance at Columbia Business School since 1993, and received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009. The topic of his thought-provoking and entertaining talk was: "Thinking About Thinking: How to Make Better Decisions." The Dom Luke Childs Lecture Series was established in memory of the late Rev. Dom Luke Childs, a 1957 graduate of Portsmouth who later returned to join our monastery. Dom Luke was a very popular figure on campus—teacher, administrator and friend to many—before dying unexpectedly in 1976 at the age of 36. The Dom Luke Childs lectures cover a range of topics and interests, all of which are meant to educate and enlighten our student body.
