We had a surplus with a Republican controlled Congress then as well. The effects of 911 on the economy and changes made to address the new threat of terrorism cost money. This was unavoidable.
I won't dispute that President Bush spent too much money. However he did it because he was trying to work with Democrats. Both parties spend too much. This is why we have change the whole nature of game in regards to spending.

Which is why we had a budget surplus from Clinton? And how Bush screwed all that up with overspending in Iraq?

He's gone in November!

Ryan is big business's nigger!
-
Conservaturds screwed up everything they touched when they were in power and run the U.S. in a hole. Now they are telling everybody that they know how to fix this mess.
-
Any random kindergartner could think up a more coherent, doable, reality-based budget than Paul Ryan's dipshit fantasy-land budget.

The Republicans did not drive the country in a ditch. The Democrats have been spend at levels far and above anything the Republicans did. Both spent too much but you cannot blame simply the Republicans.

oh my roadmap is NOT really a plan because the republicNUTS don't have a plan.
another great plan (no plan) from the party of NO

Oh it ain't over til the fat lady sings... It's just been a year.
After four years you have my permission to talk shit all you want.
First Republicans drive the country into a ditch, then they whine about the cost of the tow truck.

pay off the debt or get the deficit to zero.. these are big differences.. you will never pay off the debt and i would venture to say getting the deficit to zero is impossible. typical politician trying to BS the sheople.
