Glacier National Park, July 2009 train trip. 5,058 mile round train ride from Lynchburg, VA - Washington, DC - Chicago, IL - Essex, MT and back.

Friday, July 17 - Departed Lynchburg, VA.
Sunday, July 19 - Arrived at Essex, MT.
Monday, July 20 - Toured Glacier National Park
Tuesday, July 21 - Horseback riding during morning, white water raft in afternoon.
Wednesday, July 22 - Railfan (*See below for a couple pictures. Copy and paste full link since YouTube doesn't link it correctly.).
Thursday, July 23 - Depart Essex, MT.
Saturday, July 25 - Arrived back at Lynchburg, VA.

  • That video brought back awesome memories of my two trips out west in my Ford Escape, one in 2007 and the other in 2010. I hope you had as much fun as I did.

  • I took a similar trip in May 2010, starting in Danville and running the Empire Builder all the way to Seattle, then running the cascade line to Vancouver WA. After you pass Glacier park and head into the Cascade Mtn. Range, the views get even more spectacular.

  • I haven't been signed in for a while, so just now seeing your video. Really enjoyed it. Very nice work. Nice selection of scenes. Looks like you visited a lot of good places in Glacier Nat'l Park. And I just returned from an early Feb trip to the Izaak Walton Inn, so soon you can see the place in winter when I get a chance to post some video. wis465
