Requested by Xrogi224X. Custom Sprite Maker created in C++ by Greiga Master of TREZ (although it's evident in the video). This teaches you how to prepare a sprite sheet for importing into MegaMan Battle Network 6, how to compile it into a .DMP file, and how to apply it temporarily. If you want to do it permanently, you should know how to by now. This is some advanced stuff. ;)
These programs are suggested:
Adobe Photoshop
Sprite List Viewer
These programs are required:
Paint
Custom Sprite Maker
No, you don't get download links unless you go to http://rmexe-zone.vndv.com/ and register at the forums. The guides are officially public as of mid-August 2011. ;)
Disclaimer:
This guide works for all custom sprite sheets, battle AND overworld, for BN6. I do not take responsibility for your mistakes using Custom Sprite Maker or if you mess up your game permanently because you didn't follow this guide properly. Everything you need to know is here and all you need are the supplies which you should have. Questions have been welcome if you were to be confused. If you could not follow this guide, either wait a few years or ask now. If you are not an experienced MegaMan Battle Network hacker and think this is not for you, then don't ask for help; go learn something else and come back later.
FAQ:
Q: This description iz 2 long how do I shorten it?
A: ...Seriously? It's informative, so it's beneficial, and you choose not to read it? Taste my anti-noob scimitar.
Q: Hey how do I get Custom Sprite Maker?
A: It's at the forum of the website mentioned above, in the Custom Programs section, which is visible only to approved members of TREZ.
Q: Halp i cant use Custom Sprite Maker!
A: At least describe the issue. You could have been implying the C++ Runtime Library or something else. Be more specific.
Q: Halp!!1!ONE!1!!1!1!! I dont no hao 2 yooz Custom Sprite Maker!
A: Big surprise. That's what this video's for. Watch it.
Q: How do I import permanently?
A: Google for "HxD" and look up tutorials on it. All you need to know is Copy+Paste and knowledge of offsets. You don't know the offsets, you look at this video. I use the offsets.
Q: I dont have Photoshop!
A: You don't need it. You just are suggested to have an image editor that can animate, and Photoshop can. GIMP can too, go Google that. If you really don't want to, Paint is always an option, assuming you're good at it.
Q: How 2 use photoshop?!
A: Find some tutorials. I'm not someone who's available to teach you how to use a computer or its programs. If you watch this tutorial, then you already know how to use Photoshop and/or GIMP.
Q: Dis video is 2 fast slo it down.
A: There's a reason a pause button appears when you press the Play/Pause button on the YouTube flash player.
Q: Dis video is to long!
A: There's a reason a timeline dragger is there; to skip to parts of the video.
Q: Wat r da songz?
A: The BGMs are listed at the end of the video. Some are on a forum, so if it says Grand Robot Master Remix Battle, you're outta luck unless you sign up. :)
Q: But there are seven songs, not six!!1!1!!!1!!1!!
A: Fine then. Don't look at 20:32 - 20:57. Even though that part of this video lists the songs...
Q: how can we make sure the battle sprites if are positioned correctly?
A: I've uploaded a template for you to use. It's below this FAQ.
Q: My sprite isn't transparent on the game!
A: You can either match the background color of your sprite's frame with the default transparent color chosen by the Custom Sprite Maker (00FF00, which is pure green) and choose that option before saving your sprite dump, or you just have a transparent background and you click Top Left so that the first color becomes black and is automatically transparent. Both Photoshop and GIMP support transparency.
Q: Yo are you gonna do an Ow sprite tutorial?
A: No. You are going to have to get the Sprite List Viewer from TREZ and look up the frames. The process is still the same, and you already have the template.
Q: Yo wat is da sprite order?
A: The download link in this description gives a notepad for the battle sheet frame order.

tim, I have a problem, I tried making a Django OW sprite file, but it always messes up. Can I get some help here?
kinlyki 3 months ago
@kinlyki Did you load it 4 bytes after the pointer offset? For example, if you said the sprite sheet was "supposed" to be at 08800000, you should put it at 08800004.
timaeus22222 3 months ago
@timaeus22222 I did, anyway I don't need it anymore, someone gave me a working dump.
