Stewart Copeland Drum Solo on David Letterman! This is one of my favorite drummers now thanks to Chad Szeliga.

  • @nodrush80 Neil Peart is an excellent drummer, I'd never say anything to slight him, but for for the love of god saying no one comes close to him is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, there are dozens of drummers that are just as good or arguably better than him and I think Peart himself would agree with that.

  • To me this was the best solo so far, maybe not technically and maybe to short but as soon as he hits a drum you can tell who it is playing drums, I love that he is raw and not so refined, he plays with passion, my fave so far honestly!

  • @Nigelxman the more people like you comment, the more views I get brah. Keep em coming =)

  • @dwattzdrummer Could you possibly be more of an idiot?

  • @nodrush80 You're taking my own words and using them against me. That's all the proof I need that you're a lying sack of shit. Anybody who thinks Carl Palmer sucks is no drummer...that's the same thing as any baseball player who thinks Mickey Mantle or Willy Mays was a bad player. I have a well-paying job, a fiancee, and I don't live in my parents' basement. I don't dismiss Neil at all...if you noticed, I said he was a great drummer, among the best rock drummers in history.

  • @jetfreak4 Same to you asshole, no one else has commented besides you, palmer worshipping queer. Every drummer I talk to agree's with me. The only one I dismiss is you, you have no credibility, you're not a drummer, the fact that you dismiss Neil proves your mental retardation, no one agree's with you. Go listen to your outdated boring elp records in your parents basement where you live, douche.

  • @lanndonkane The Other Way of Stopping is about as close to soloing as I've ever heard him come. He doesn't like doing them now, but did them as a kid. As Neil himself said.."Stewart Copeland once said that he never liked drum solos, but did them as a kid because anybody at that time who didn't was sneered at." The drumming on "outlandos D'Amour" and the "Regatta De Blanc" albums shows him to easily be capable of great soloing. As good an accompanist as he is, he could easily solo.

  • Fine, be like that. See only what you want to see, continue blindly worshipping your idol and promoting him as above the rest...I am not the first person to ridicule you on here and I certainly won't be the last. Every drummer I've ever talked to holds my view. The fact that you dismiss Billy Cobham, one of the greatest drummers ever to sit behind a kit, is all I need to prove your mental retardation. Bill Bruford and Ian Paice both share my view of Carl. It's time you did.

  • @Monsterdrumma yea man Copeland is amazing. Not only creatively, he's technically one of the best, but seriously he's got to be one of the most creative drummers alive

  • @dwattzdrummer I totally agree, showmanship is not part of the battle with drumming but really, if you have good technique it's impossible not to be a showman. I don't think it's pearts lack of showmanship that makes him seem robotic, I think it's his style. I've always thought his style was very mechanical and I think it really becomes evident when he does drum solos. He's a brilliant drummer but I know what you mean, I think there are better drummers out there people don't realize it

  • @96drummer96 shut the fuck up. he has a point, it's not blasphemy to have a negative opinion about something Neil Peart does, don't be retarded, get of his nuts, I'm sure he doesn't want you there

  • Stewarts always great! However, for those of you who can't record directly from the TV, please stop putting this shitty sounding crap on Youtube. Holding your cellphone up to the TV is practically retarded. Get the proper connections to your computer and welcome to 2012!
