Thunderf00t, The Thinking Atheist, and Coughlan

A very brief statement on my views on the topic. If anyone would like to have a discussion on the topic, post your comments below, and make sure your stance is well supported.

As this has become my most puplically disliked video, those who disagree, shoot me a message or post a comment. I'd like to know why.

It is kind of ironic that in your repsonse and lenghty criticism of Tfoot calling Coughlan a fundamentalist, you compare Tfoots actions to those of fundmentalists.

To ignore the dramtically different motivation that Tfoot had in doing what he did is just coarse. A cheap way to make an invalid point.

Tfoot is no angel, but if anyone has been begging for attention and criticism it is coughlan. Photoshopping Tfoot into images as a fundie and setting up fake profiles, wow thats petty.

I don't believe Tfoot did generalise about 1.2billion people. At least I haven't seen any vid in which he did.

What generalisation are you referring to?

Incidentally, I suspect this video your most disliked as you are defending Couglan who quite disliked (I personally think with good reason. His self-righteousness alone is enough to make me vomit) and you criticise Tfoot who is liked by many (disliked too but the former are the ones who'll click the thumb down button)

@TheCelticChimp Then you must not be paying attention. He's generalized all christians on several occasions and also generalized all muslims as well. tf00t seems to do exactly what he critiques others of doing to atheists. As for the likability of this video, no, no where near my most disliked.

I am now a subscriber on the strength of this video and I must say I admire your courage in speaking out, particularly as your channel is a fledgling. I see you have already attracted nearly 30 thumbs down. I hope you are aware of false DMCAs and other forms of YouTube bullying. At any rate I like your work and your attitude. I enjoy how calmly and rationally you address this issue. I'm not familiar with the conflict you mention in this video (I've only recently been perusing the YouTube atheist ether) beyond that there is a conflict. The essential point I'm taking from this video is that an open dialog is more what we should be striving for rather than proving our point to be right. Anyone claiming to be a rationalist who ignores that very important point has belied that claim by doing so.

@TheCelticChimp No, that was Coughlan joking around with his mate about it. Even so, TF is still being a hypocrite by accusing people of photoshopping him into porn, when he did the exact same thing in one of his videos about Kent Hovind.

@TheCelticChimp Couldn't disagree with you more about Coughlan. He certainly isn't self righteous. And his points against Thunderf00t were valid and unaddressed. Coughlan didn't photoshop TF into images. He was accused of doing so, but no evidence was presented. TF, however, actually made a video photoshopping Kent Hovin into compromising position. Talk about hypocrisy. TF is the self-righteous troll in this little prism darling.
