Ron Lemieux is a politician with a wonderful sense of humour, and an over all nice person. His portfolio is the "Minister of Local Government". In a recent TV debate carried by 3 TV stations, Premier Greg Selinger referred to Conservative leader Hugh McFadyen as "the Grim Reaper". And Lemieux here also refers to McFadyen as that. Lemieux is running for re-election in the Dawson Trail riding in Manitoba. Previously, he was a professional hockey player, a defenceman drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He started with the Dauphin Kings of MJHL, helping the Kings to the Manitoba championship in 1971-72. He played for the Green Bay Bobcats in the United States Hockey League for the 1974-75 season. He later coached girl's hockey in Lorette, Manitoba and St. Adolphe.
