After seeing both Polar Express and A Christmas Carol, I think this movie is the best of the mo-cap film Zemeckis put out. The technology is amazing, but the story is really well told and it is dark and true to feel/tone of the poem.

God, Ray Winstone's voice is so perfect for Beowulf it's creepy.

He's a supposed hero, and yet his voice awesome because it isn't the voice of a hero.

For me, it adds to the feel that he 'pretends' to be heroic (like the sea monsters and killing Angelina Jolie).

All in all, I loved this film!

I never read the book, so I wouldn't be disappointed if it didn't follow it. And yet, I still found this movie to be so freaking boring. Its pacing was so damn slow, and Beowulf himself was a somewhat disappointing hero.
