@eminem213486 I know plenty of people that speak 3 or 4 languages. It doesn't make them any smarter. It means more of the planet knows they're stupid in most cases. 60 year olds and 6 year olds can learn a foreign language. It doesn't take or increase IQ, common sense, or knowledge (other than the knowledge of another language). If people with an IQ of 75 can learn 3 languages, they still have a 75 IQ. I totally agree with the JOBS aspect.

@ChronicMist Answer: Awareness of our being, wondering the greatest question that's ever been asked and trying to find it in the greatest story ever told..."Why?" I'm not an animal or a computer, but I don't think either of those examples question their own existence. Realization of emotion is a very intelligent thing. Maybe you typing on the computer is nothing more than biological instinct or data files.

Who is 'they'?! WE are all part of the solution or part of the problem. Don't breed. Doesn't matter where you come from. Just stop. (Especially if you are ugly or/and fat) Maybe the 'americans' can just disappear and give the land back to the original American natives. They didn't breed out of proportion. They didn't produce crap food full of fat either.

Things will start to slow down when energy becomes more expensive. Right now we're on an energy high through fossil fuel use. Because we live in exponential times im sure we'll hit some physical limits to growth in the near future. But if we can build artificial brains that can learn at a faster rate than humans we can continue the rapid pace of technological progress.

This video is a rip off, what plagiarism.

read somewhere that the next important war (not like these "oil" wars that are today) will be against people and nations who support advance technologies and want to create a new human, machine-human mix, something like cyborgs, eradicating diseases etc., against people that are "unenhanced"

I don't mind it... the memories are there.. thats what really matters. and I don't believe we can stop the advance of technology. Maybe WWIII will blow us all to hell and we'll start over.. who knows. although i dont want that to happen. at all. because i actually enjoy life.

I was hoping that it's something more spiritual that defines our memories :) ...hopping that would have never been discovered how it works, but can I stop the advance of technology? :)
-
right... kinda sucks doesn't it. Isn't memory unbelievable, though? Protein conglomerates hold our most cherished memories... its crazy. Hey thank you for being gracious in your discussion though.

@JPMartin5 "they can't have rational human thought" we'll see if you're right by 2050. I hope you're right, but I doubt it :( a circuit board runs EXACTLY like our brain: electrical impulses, all that things. rational thinking is nothing then some signals in a specific order. recently it was discovered that memories are actually written down in our brain, chemically, in protein conglomerates. one day will come when we'll reach the Singularity, sooner or later. nobody can stop that
Two questions...
For how long will Earth stand this growth?
And how much of this information can a person handle in a lifetime?

you forgot, learn a second language. That is the greatest thing a person can do. It enhances your thinking skills and it gets you JOBS.
