I wrote this rendition of Amazing Grace in DADGAD tuning a couple of years ago. It's on my Trapper Dan C.D. at www.danielhalen.com as part of a tourist package I put together with a audio tour and GPS geocach hunt between Skagway Alaska and Whitehorse Yukon. I hope you like it. I'm partial to the open tuning and it really make me think outside of the box a little more. This version has a few clams and is rushed because the camera only had 3 minutes worth of video time on it. But what the heck, it's all in good fun. When it has more time to breath, this song can really be milked for all it's worth. Enjoy

  • Thanks for the kind words. Will work for trailmix and Gatoraide on a sunny day on any river.

    Cheers

    Thanx Tanya

  • Wow!! I was very pleasantly surprised!! Nice playing. And the good thing is you can use the Washburn as an auxillary back-up paddle if you lose your main paddle. : )

  • Thanks : - ) I just stuff the Washburn face down under the webbing so it doesn't fill up with water when I'm out playing in the rapids and it's held up pretty good for the abuse it takes. I haven't used it as a paddle yet...maybe next summer.

    Cheers

  • You play so good ! Bravo ! For next christmas i want a big Kayak too and also a river to put it on !

  • so pure man.. amazing !!!

  • I'd kinda like to hire you to just follow me everywhere and play pretty stuff like that. Sadly, I don't think I'm rich enough. really awesome, would have loved to have been floating near by.

  • @MrBavelaar I find the nylon string guitar easier to play for a longer period of time and the sound is warmer. To me, the steel string is a little too banjo like...but...that could lead to some interesting ideas also! If you go nylon, use some high tension strings to make it feel more like a full length guitar.

    Cheers

  • This is the first and only video so far on youtube that demonstrates the fingerstyle capabilities of the Washburn Rover. I bought one earlier today online before seeing this. It arrives tomorrow but I've been wondering if I made the right decision. After seeing this I think I have.
