i need the help of a autechre fan ; did somebody know what kind of machine they use to make this "freeze" sound effect (especially at 00.58 min), i think that its an over-feedbacked delay but im not sure;
if somebody know , please answer me !!

you might be right. another way to achieve a similar effect (probably easier too) is to just stretch out the length of a sound using resampling so it causes that stuttering effect. if they had used a half second sample of a synth and lengthened it to several seconds, you would get that result, or something close.

Weirdsville13: imo granular synthesis with a real-time tweaking. actually there's a lots of layered tweaking motion on that. it's like a huge sound puzzle. amazing stuff.

I'm almost certain that's major feedbacked delay, you're right. I managed to create some VERY similar sounds earlier today on Logic Pro 9 earlier today with Latched modification
