This is Gene Dotson on his Case model LA tractor, using the tractor's belt pulley to power a sawmill at the Farm Power of the Past show in Greenville, Ohio, in July 2010. Roger, Larry, and Donnie Fox own and are operating the mill. I only caught the end of the demonstration, after the big logs had all been sawn into lumber, so the video only shows the somewhat slow process of cleaning up the last few relatively small pieces.

  • Love those big old standard tread tractors!

The Case LA was popular here in Australia with our wheat farmers.

The modern day Occ. Health & Safety people would probably hate that unshielded saw-blade, but that was how it was done in that bygone era..

  • We have a fully restored Case LA that is in really good condition.

  • Arbor speed is a bit fast judging from the pulley size on the arbor, I suppose La Case gets by when your edging and busting 8x8 cants

  • My familys mill, we left one day early, roger didnt want to wait on traffic

and i is one of the grandsons
