Mos Def's mistrust of the media is just an excuse for not knowing anything

I once respected Mos Def intellectually, now I see that he is just an anti authoritarian over liberal who is proud of his own ignorance and wears it as a badge of honour. The undue infamous respect he gets is childish and pathetic, Dr. Hitchens and Mr Rushdie have more honour and bravery then any self proclaimed gangster, they know what these regimes are capable of. The panel is discussing WAR, brutal dictatorships and real terrorism not pathetic suberban solipsism.

You mean the list that was conducted by the Prospect Magazine and Foreign Policy?If yes than the list is a simple ballot from which readers could cast their vote. No scientific/intellectual basis was on play there and therefore it has no validity.

I can bet you that i read more books than you ever will and that im more educated thanyou are but that is not the issue here.

You are arguing against fact and then saying fact is a myth...please go to school...please read some books...please search the internet and you will feel less dumb after finding the proper information. Yes, Hitchens was officially listed as #5 in a list of 100 top intellectuals of the world on two separate occasions. Yes, Rushdie was on the list as well.

Bin Laden might as well have been a mythical figure the way they used him as a boogie man for 10 years. When you finally get to him, he always magically escapes like the villain from inspector gadget cartoon series, finally to be "killed" after 10 grueling years of wars, searching, private contractors making billions of dollars and suspiciously buried at sea. Who believes this nonsense? Eisenhower warned America of the Military Industrial Complex decades ago and his words came true.

@leonthalion Hitchens didn't have doctoral degree; he was not Dr. Hitchens. He was unbelievably brilliant and one of my heroes but he didn't earn a doctorate. :)

Mos Def was def outta his depth and revealed himself to be ignorant - but his skin color has nothing to do with it. You find the same level of ignorance with Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann. All would feel the lash of the Hitchster should they try to hold sway with him.
