Assam is a black tea named after the region from which it is produced. The Assam region straddles an area south of the eastern Himalayas and is roughly about the size of Ireland, sharing borders with Bhutan and Bangladesh. Assam tea is harvested from the Camellia Sinensis Assamica. This tea differs from tea plants from China in that it grows predominantly at sea level or below and it prospers in the extremely hot and humid conditions found on the huge plains that cover this area.
Each month we take a tea, sometimes known, sometimes a little obscure and let the tea experts loose on it. They show you how to brew the tea, where its from, what's particular about the tea, showing the character of the tea. This is your chance to learn about tea and become a Tea Master
