@lordcrusade The director decided to do this to show that Hector was a very honorable man and 0% coward. In the Iliad, though, he stands because he is ashamed to enter Troy; Polydamas, a seer, had told him not to stay outside the walls with the army after he killed Patroclus, because he knew Achilles would return. Hector decided to stay, believing they could win, but Achilles slaughtered the trojan army. The director wanted to make Hector look perfect and almost infallible, so he changed this.
