  • What a fabulous song! I remember when it came out in '72, as a boy back in Perth, I would listen to it on my transistor radio and sing along. So many times over the 40 odd years the words would come back to me, but I could never remember the name, or the band. But the chorus has echoed in my mind... "the dark and lonely highways..." all this time. Now in the US since 1981, I haven't heard it for more than 30 years. I wonder where I can download a copy! Thank you so much.

  • @darrenjray - I was able to find it (albeit at 128 kbps) after some hunting around. But thanks for the offer!

  • @pkristen100 I have a CD - Country Radio Live Also sing a version of 'Wintersong' which is a great tune of theirs

  • @wjosephsimmons : It's RARE in terms of availability - even here in Oz, where it was made. BUT - the thing is that it IS still yet available, with an of application of effort, brainy investigative work & research, + industry contacts. It's appeared on several Aussie "Best-Of" Compilation CDs over the last decade. I just LOVE your first few lines of comment about your mega-enthusiastic response to the song - mine was pretty-well identical, going by your decsriptions. Cheers from Oz. Col

  • @wjosephsimmons I can e-mail you the mp3 if you'd like. Great record.

  • Loved this LP in High School, wonder what ever happened to it??
