This segment starts with a review of the work of Jim Whinnery. He experimentally brought fighter pilots to the point of near death to understand the effects of high gravitational forces on the human brain. In doing so, he inadvertently documented that we are awake, aware and conscious at the point of death, even though we might appear comatous.
I then review near death experience research that indicates that we die the life we live. Each of us has a very unique dying experience based on what lessons of love we needed to learn in this life.
Finally I discuss that 1/3 of the brain is dedicated to our having spiritual experiences. Consciousness apparently uses the brain to interact with this reality. I review the brain structures involved in consciousness linking with and using the brain as the "temple of consciousness".
to see beyond the illusion. science is finally catching up with mans expression of God :-)

at 19.55 it states that decreased activity from the five senses leads to increased right temporal lobe activity. this is also what the new testament is trying to tell us. remove sense of self / ego, connection to the flesh. this is what fasting, prayer, meditation, zen buddhism, all religions really, advocate. this secret has been with us for many many millenium but somehow kept alive and passed on from generation to generation, by scientists, philosophers, writers, artists.
