this is a video of Rock Krawlers corporate vehicle testing our newest supercharger system. This rig originally came in producing 133whp on the stock 3.23 gears, exhaust manifolds, cats and muffler. After our supercharger install it produces 204whp and 237lb/ft torque.

  • and also is that 204 hp and 237 ftlbs altogether or just what the supercharger added??

  • Thats a JK, with a 3.8l V6, we added 120rear wheel HP (whp) 92HP at the crank. The tire and gear size also affect the total output. Proper gearing effects everything

  • a proper dyno run you choose the gear that is most near 1:1 ratio so with 35's i'd imagine that was more like 3rd or 4th probably 4th gear.. or did you run 6th gear dyno? Supercharged with the right math done you can or should get over 300 Ft lbs I think..or near it..Don't you mean 92 Wheel horsepower and 120 Crank horse? drivetrain leaching power making the output lower?

  • The transmissions final drive ratio doe not match the engine power curve. This makes acceleration and over-all driving experience crappy. By properly gearing a JK you effectively move the HP in a more usable range, and gain some MPG. HP really depends on the combination of parts you have - after 250 kits we've seen an average gain of 100 bolted on WHP and 120ish lb/ft or torque - measured at the wheels. Remember we are still flowing through stock exhaust manifolds and cats.

  • correct but by regearing you also make it easier for the same amount of power to move x load. I was just curious what gear you had the JK in when you dynoed it is all if you didn't jump to 4.88 gears to compensate for tires so you could get an accurate reading. I think it's impressive either way and very usefull on the trail.

  • The description up to the right of each of our video's we detail the build. This one reads stock 3.28 gearing ;) When building a JK with a larger tires gears are absolutely part of the equation. not re-gear an auto JK it will go into a default mode Torque Request Denied (TRD) when asking for power. After 250 kits sold now, rigs without gears will not run soundly as re-geared rigs. Like anything else it has to to be done right. We run a 5.13 - 5.38 35's/37's. 4.88's on 33's only.
