it's a lot easier and more fun to draw the designs from your own imagination. and the 'free motion foot' isn't necessary. I've been drawing with my sewing machine for 7years. check out my youtube channel: pnosa

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I am looking for a sewing machine that I can use for monogramming free hand and computerized as well (a used machine is my Preference), which machine(s) would you recommend?

Absolutely! Just pick out a metal design and you can make the shirt or article ot clothing however you'd like! Good luck.
