Every year, Extreme Response celebrates Christmas with over 15,000 of the poorest of the poor. These celebrations bring hope to the hopeless; building trust and cultivating relationships that Extreme Response has developed with those who have been forgotten by society.
The very first Christmas Party in the Quito City Dump took place in December of 1997. That party was attended by over 300 people who lived and worked in the dump. From that first party, Extreme Response was born. The Christmas party became an annual event and gradually more parties were added in the Quito area. In 2004 our first team of volunteers traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to put on a week of parties with an Extreme Response partner, Living Hope.
In 2010, parties were held in Ecuador, South Africa, Philippines, India and Nepal. We look forward to 2011!
