This short clip, taken from footage in the new documentary (Astro) Turf Wars, show how despite their publicly saying they don't question the science of climate change, this oil backed front group does exactly that.

  • What happened to the ice age we all heard about in the 70s? I was laughing then, and I'm laughing now. Sad thing is, the bullshit, hype, and lies, didn't cost anything, back then. Greenhouse gases? You've got to be kidding.

  • Now we have some idea of what it's like at the Lonegan family table during the holidays: there's a great editorial about how Steve here & his liberal brother Bryan haven't spoken to each other in 25 years & yet manage to dine at the same table every year....

  • What's really interesting is that only in America do 50% or so of the population now think global warming is not happening. Just goes to show what tens of millions (if not more) lobbying money + Fox News can do in America on lesser minds that have no ability to reason or look at long form data patterns.

No other country in the world believes energy cmpanies over scientists. Yet here is the U.S., we take a some dubious source who appears on Fox's "Hannity"'s word that global warming is a hoax.

  • Hm... That speaker looked kinda familiar. Isn't he one of those climate-denying scientists? Ray Preston or Something W. Preston. Or his initials have W.P. in them I think.

  • Where do these liars keep getting data for this claim that there has been NO WARMING in the last 10 years?? That's absolutely FALSE! I've looked into it, and I can't find a single, objective source for that kind of claim. WHO is "finding" this data out?? CEI? Cato Institute? Heritage? Other right-wing environmental think-tanks??

  • If we are wrong, it's not that big a deal. We'll still have a healthy climate, healthier people, less pollution, and we'll supposedly have "wasted" a few trillion. However, if THEY are wrong, and we take their advice not to do anything, we're kinda fucked. Of course, I'm sure nothing like The Day After Tomorrow will become a reality, but I'm sure it will still have a significant-enough impact, esp. on less-wealthier areas, for us to be concerned.

  • Besides, even if the denier scientists WERE right, am I supposed to put all my bets on THEM, or the majority of scientists who've done all their own testing and come to the conclusion that AGW IS real and is having a significant impact?? What reason do I have to put my bets on the deniers who say we should do nothing, just so that years down the road the effects will increase in magnitude, and things will just get worse, esp. for less-developed nations?

  • What planet are these people living on??? They REALLY think with all of the emissions we've put into the atmosphere in the last 100+ years, there'd be NO EFFECT on warming and climate?? What a JOKE! Get some fucking education, you idiots! The science IS in, and with the exception of 50 or 100 REAL scientists who probably don't know wtf they're talking about, the vast majority of the scientific community all agree, based on extensive TESTING and DATA, that AGW is real.

  • They know and I know and we all know that the price tag for pollution reduction is MUCH SMALLER than they claim! Public Citizen did its own 77-page study not too long ago showing how regulators and industries oftentimes lie, mislead or just get the costs plain wrong of most regulations.

  • The "price tag" isn't that much!! I've heard that the Kyoto Protocol would cost about $300 Billion. Of course, that's probably a multi-year estimate, and our economy is $14 Trillion! Surely we can afford a climate plan that costs less than 10%?? Morons...

If we spread out the costs over many years, it won't really be that "high" a cost anyhow. Fucking lying douchebags
