@mrwinner5 capoiera has many differant elements like fighting music acrobatics, youll be able to find out plenty about its purpose and history on the internet.Also there are differant styles of capoiera like angola and abolica.its a very stategic game.check out capoiera vs muay thai on you tube and that might give you an idea of what a good capoierista can do.

this is was we call Jogo Duro. ''Hard Game''. It's still capoeira, but the emphasis is now on real contact and more of a fighting context. There are still subtle rules to observe in the roda during Jogo Duro, but that's pretty much it.

Why?

Try to understand the environment: Capoeira was created by brazilian black slaves who lives in the giant collonial coffee and sugar cane farms. They were killed and punished for anything, so they covered up the martial art in some kind of dance (it seems like a dance, its really beautiful and its way better than this movie). This way masters won't bother they were training...

Hmm, it seems to focus alot on kicking, some kind of weaving kicks tbh. The rest seem to be merely support. It is a sound tactic as the legs kan pack more power than the arms, but the legs aren't suited for too close fights, meaning that they should use their legs to keep their opponents at a distance, no?
