they both kick ass for sure, both very versatile and music of todays is a lot less boring with both bands around, not to mention all the other projects jack has done. but yeah who cares who was around first, at that thought hmmmmmmm peter hayes played in Brian jonestown massacre round the time white stripes first started. bonus points, lol. but what it comes down to for me besides their talent is their heart for fans, and both bands are prime examples of good hearted musicians.

You're both right, sort of. BRMC formed in '98, White Stripes year before, but White Stripes released their in album in 99, two years before BRMC.

i dont know why every1 compares them to jesus and mary chain because they really dont sound that similar and BRMC are overall better at their instruments then JaMC ever were
