Stimer Modèle M12 Amplifier

Finally! A historically accurate reissue of the legendary Stimer tube amp made famous by Django. Maurice Dupont did a fantastic job capturing the look and sound of this classic amp. As you'd expect, it sounds dead on 50's Django when played with a Stimer pickup. Archtops with humbuckers also sound very good.

The amp is 12 watts (which is very, very loud since it's a tube amp!)

Lovely sound. Would this Stimer 12 watt cope when playing with a drummer? Django's amp distorted beautifully on his be bop stuff, as did Charlie Christian's when playing against horns. Very tasteful playing by the way, Thanks for the post.

Yes, this amp is plenty loud so it wouldn't have any trouble cutting through with a drummer.

Do you guess Django used Stimer pickup and amp in his 1949 Roma sessions?

It’s sounds more warm and fat than Django’s 1930’s or early 1940’s recordings.

I'm not sure what Django was using on the Rome sessions. I think there are some photos of him from those sessions with an archtop. Not sure though...
