I love the 'real car fan' approach to this, no panning just foot to the floor driving and using the car for what it was intended for, making long journeys short.

what is the music in the beginning of the video? Please tell.

But now it's a different time, back than cops didn't have a whole arsenal with helicopters and a whole fleet, if these guys did this in the 70's they would have blown them right out of the water.

@e30bimmerdriver I would assume otherwise they wouldn't have gotten 50k.

@sharpiegold Yea rawlings just seems like a ballsy person with a fast care, but if you listen to alex roy he meticulously planned every last detail. He didn't make a public bet shouting it out like a moron for attention. That's just my impression.

nope

not official

do they have proof they did do it in that time like alex roy did
-
They wouldn't need it, because cop cars back then didn't have camera and all the help they can get now such as helicopters...so if you were brave enough to run away with a fast car it was possible.

It's a good thing Alex Roy did his cross-country run before these posers ruined everything.
The technology has changed but the guys in the seventies still had crude radar detectors, tail light switches, and rearward facings radar. You may be an Alex Roy fan, as am I, but you have to respect the Rawlings team for (a) attempting it and (b) actually betting $50K to say they were capable. Look at them, in the vid, they were hitting the wall. Few can do what Roy and Rawlings did. I will never be able to do it. It's like Jordan versus Kobe. You have to respect them both for their strengths.
