I think the human body is too complex to generalize. Some people thrive in a raw vegan diet, others eating only meat. I think we should find out what works for each of us. And stick to it.

I agree. It depends at least in part on your ancestry. Genetically some people come from regions where the populations adapted to grains a long time ago, while others are genetically incapable of tolerating them (I'm one of those). Trouble is, we were told everyone should follow the high-starch food pyramid.

I just watched this DVD, and found it excellent. Tom, please be the 21st century version of Ancel Keys, only with intelligence!

I appreciate that. Unforunately, Ancel Keys was intelligent ... but also arrogant and very, very wrong.

how can epidemiology be considered a proper science? It doesn't make any sense nor do epidemiologists. I could make up a correlation about burning houses and cats in the neighbourhood... come on, you can find meaningless correlations everyday, it's no science.. it's no even intellettual... it's a childish game

not true, I found a report from 1910 and the amount of macronutrients and we ate the same amount of carbohydrates. But I don't believe we were healthy in the 1910 (just to talk to any person who was alive then) so that means nothing, but still sugar (not carb) consumption was lower, there was no margarine, veggie oils were not used and we didn't eat all the junk foods.

I have been at a "forgotten wild fruits" fair and the fruits I tasted there were moderate in size and very sweet. According to the organizators there are more than 900 varieties of wild edible fruits we don't find on the supermarket. According to Eaton the 98% of edible plants and fruits available to the paleolithic man are now extinct. So yes certain fruits are hybrids (exp. apples and bananas) but many others are not and wild fruits are not all sour and small.

A comment on indiedavid's comment. Sugar in all forms is bad. Please please do your research! Sugar feeds cancer! America consumes sugar at poisonous levels. I have been sick for 31 years without any help from doctors. I finally quit sugar completely for 6 weeks. I am down 30 lbs, I am off all meds, and my severe daily pain is gone. Please.. reaseach!
