The TV Guide is the September 15-21 1979 issue. And man, another great example of a classic movie that once used to air on the free local New York stations. Though admittedly, at 4:30 in the afternoon, I much more prefered watching the syndicated reruns of classic tv shows that aired on either channels 5, 9, or 11. (I was 10 years old in 1979). But this sort of programming is sorely missed. Cable tv used to provide this kind of great programming, but that too is going downhill.

re: classic programming. i agree. i was going thru some of my 60-70s ny edtion tv guides and the local channels were so much like tv land. non stop classic tv. now, forget it. how will cable and tv be in 10 years. i even miss programming from the early to mid 90s.

I like it, too. In fact, I saw it a number of times on WABC's "4:30 Movie" as a kid.

Agree- I mean, not a great "film" but loads of fun.

And Joel Crager (of "ABC Sunday/Friday Night Movie" fame) was the V/O on the "4:30 Movie" promo. Which was for the Sept. 13-14, 1979 airing as part of "Frank Sinatra Week."
