Alternate History: "Fatherland 2 - The Collapse of the Reich"

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL VIDEO, JUST AN EXERCISE OF ALTERNATE HISTORY NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND ANYONE. This is perhaps the most common alternate history scenario of all. It was developed by Robert Harris in Fatherland, Philiph k. Dick in The Man in the High Castle, Brad Lineweaver in Moon of Ice, Harry Turltedove in The Presence of Mine Enemies, Robert Blumetti and countless others. The scenario I find most likely is the one in the movie Fatherland based (but with little differences which in my opinion make it more plausible) in the Robert Harris novel with the same name. So here I continue the story as, in my opinion History might developed after the movies events. I had this idea based in real Portuguese History where the 48 year old fascist regime has fallen in 1974 due to fight in a long and dragging guerilla colonial war in Africa.
P.S: the "German Revolution of 1975" I imagine is like the real world's Portuguese Revolution of 1974, that is, a democratic one. Although this imaginary one is much more violent. The Germans attack the tanks thinking they are there to repress the rebellion, but they are wrong. In fact, the military are intervening to overthrow the regime and save Germany, Europe and the World from the decaying bankrupt nazis.

@alonenjersey I read the novel too by I prefered the movie (what is strange but in this case truth) because the nazis persecuted the pan-european movement (ancestor of the EU) among other reasons :)

@drosera88 Also, try making a new one that is completely yours from beginning to end. The 'Fatherland' intro is great, but going from the first half being narrated to the second half using text really feels inconsistent in the video.

It be a big boost quality wise to either make a new one with full, original narration from the beginning, or simply just text from the beginning.

@alternatehistorypt I was being a bit sarcastic, but am super interested in alternate history. It's a decent attempt at developing the idea presented in 'Fatherland,' and creating a possible outcome.

Try taking some of the other comment's criticisms into consideration. You're addition is a good start, but you need to delve a bit deeper. Looking into past and current conflicts for some insight into it, as well as the opinions of historians.

and besides of all that it was Stalin above all who urged the allies to open new fronts in europe to relieve the pressure on his side. read some history before giving your opinions.

if russia was left to fight germany alone it would either been knocked out or kept at bay even if their initial intention before the war was to make the whole european continent under bolchevik rule. and germany warned of this threat in its propaganda campaigns to bring more people to their cause.

well fahterland would be the closest alternate history if the US had widrawn from europe.

the thing is that in the summer of 44 germany was fighting on three fronts alone: france, italy and russia. now if a failure of D day would have occured germans would have thrown their whole might to hold the soviet advance in ukraine and baltic coutries.

on the top of that the USSR wouldn't have fared that long without the TREMENDOUS US/british logistical support.
